http://portableapps.com/Portable apps is an operating system you can install onto a USB drive, iphone, portable hard drive, cell phone or any device that works as a storage device. From there its up to you what programs you run. What this does is create a mini work station you can carry around with you.

After you install the basic launcher you can look through the site and install individual programs. Even if you don’t need an entire fleet of portable programs, installing chrome or firefox ensures that you can keep your normal browsing setup anywhere you go (yes it supports add ons and extensions).This may not work for some people but I am a person who lives out of a bag and a car who doesn’t own a lap top. This alleviates that issue entirely (as long as I got computers to leech off of), and combined with dropbox (look it up, I will post about it later) I dont even need to own a computer anymore, I can get past the administrator restrictions at work and run whatever programs I like along with them never being able to see my browsing history.
